— Finding Heart in Isolation
I included The Grinch on this list not because it was a career-defining role, but because of what it represented. It was the height of the pandemic—a time of fear, distance, and uncertainty—and somehow, a group of artists came together, rehearsing in masks, finding laughter and connection through the layers of fabric and fear.
In many ways, the Grinch embodied what so many of us were feeling then: isolated, guarded, disconnected from our own hearts. But through that process, we found a way to rediscover joy, empathy, and community. I’m proud that, in a moment when the world felt so divided, we were able to create something that reminded people—myself included—that love and connection are always worth fighting for.
It wasn’t the most glamorous project of my career, but it was one of the most human… which is funny, considering I wasn’t actually playing one.
